Thanks for the QSO. I have always had a warm spot in my heart for the New Jersey as I believe it was part of my dad's division during the Korean War. He served aboard USS Lincoln County, LST-898. As a radio operator, I'm sure he sent and received traffic from the New Jersey. Thank you for the great work you are doing in restoring and maintaining these great vessels. Thank you also for taking the time to set up the special event station for ships museum weekend.  73, -Steve Weidman, N0VJC

Saw the reference to the web page in the May 01 QST. I served aboard IOWA, MISSOURI & NEW JERSEY in 1952 & 53 as RM-3 in Com7thFlt, Flag Allowance. Helped move all the Flag comm gear to the WISCONSIN in Yokosuka harbor in October of '53 and then came home to Long Beach via Pearl Harbor on the NEW JERSEY. Many fond memories of my time on battleships. I hope to visit all of them one of these days! Good job on getting the radio spaces in some sort of shape. Needless to say you need a lot of old gear to show what it was like during WW2 & Korea. 73, Norm, W6JOD
